After a record breaking year in 2017, with sunshine all round, Country Fest will return on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June 2018 and let’s hope for a repeat of the good weather.
Join us and celebrate the beginning of British Summertime at Country Fest – a fantastic family event, with delicious food and drink, countryside activities, children’s workshops, daring stunt displays, live music and plenty more for the whole family to get involved in.
This year will see the Demo Arena playing host to the exciting Jason Smyth Adrenaline Tour Motorbike and Quad Stunt Show. Starring ex-world championship moto-cross rider Jason Smyth, the display is crammed with spectacular tricks on various quad bikes, motor bikes and is unique. You will see quad stunts including quad freestyle, with Jason enthralling the audience with his precision as he catches items of memorabilia 30ft in the air above his articulated rig.
Some popular favourites will be returning including the stunning Kite Festival, the Rare Breed Young Shepherds Competition and the very competitive Young Farmers Tug of War Final. Animal lovers will be entertained by the Sheepdog Trials, the Dog Show, Rabbit Show and Poultry Show as well as the crowd pleasing Terrier Racing.
For the first time at Country Fest, Flowers North West will be holding its 2018 Floral Art Competitions. With a theme of ‘A Lakeland Fantasy’ the competition schedule reflects the many sources of inspiration in the Lake District including the landscape, farming, fine dining and the leisure industry. The stunning flower displays will range from the more traditional to the very modern to offer visitors a very imaginative and diverse exhibition.
The Food Zone will once again be offering locally produced delicious food to try and buy, plus there will be a huge range of competitive classes for people to take part in such as craft, sewing and baking with a couple of new categories especially for this year. Following a successful first year in 2017, the Sew Crafty Marquee is returning and there will be plenty of opportunity for people to enjoy craft activities on the day.
Country Fest 2018 is a great day out for all the family, so buy your tickets in advance to secure your place at this enjoyable Festival that champions the British Countryside.
Held at the Westmorland County Showground, Crooklands, near Kendal.
